Privacy Policy

Who we are
Lilanu is a care coordination app that helps families manage medications, appointments, tasks, and updates for a loved one in one shared space. We are the company that operates the Lilanu iOS app and this website (lilanu.com).
What information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name and email address when you create an account.
- Care data: medications, appointments, tasks, and updates you enter for the care recipient in your care space. This data belongs to you.
- Care circle information: the names and email addresses of people you invite to your care circle.
- Support messages: if you contact us for help, we keep a record of that conversation.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: how you use the app (screens visited, features used, errors encountered) — collected anonymously to help us improve Lilanu.
- Device information: device type, operating system version, and app version — used for debugging and compatibility.
- Crash reports: if the app crashes, we automatically receive a report to help us fix the issue.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Lilanu service.
- Send transactional emails — such as invitation emails, password-reset links, and account notices.
- Respond to your support requests and questions.
- Understand how people use Lilanu so we can make it better.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
We do not use your care data to train AI or machine-learning models. We do not use your information for targeted advertising.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Your care circle: the people you explicitly invite can see the care data in your shared space, based on the permissions you set.
- Service providers: we use trusted third-party services for cloud hosting, email delivery, error tracking, and analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lilanu or others.
- Business transfers: if Lilanu is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before that happens.
How we protect your data
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices and limit access to your personal data to employees and contractors who need it to operate the service.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@mail.lilanu.com.
Your rights and choices
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. You can:
- Update your account details from within the Lilanu app.
- Delete your account and all associated data by going to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@mail.lilanu.com.
- Opt out of non-essential communications by unsubscribing from emails or adjusting your notification settings in the app.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it longer.
Children's privacy
Lilanu is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Lilanu may be used to coordinate care for a child — in that case, the adult caregiver is responsible for managing the data.
Third-party links
Lilanu may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as the App Store). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “last updated” date at the top and, if the changes are material, notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use of Lilanu after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
